Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas has come and gone! This year it seemed to go by extremely fast! I don't know if it's because I worked so much this Christmas Season, or the fact that time just seems to fly by. Kennedi had a wonderful First Christmas! She got a slide, wagon, inflatable ball pit, inflatable jumpy house, a 4 wheeler and many other toys and clothes. She is one spoiled girl! Christmas Eve- me and Kennedi went to church with Joey's parents and sister, then headed to my parents house for our traditional family Christmas Eve party. We eat snacks, read the true Christmas story out of the bible, and exchange gifts. Then we headed home and went to sleep for Santa! Joey got off work at 7 Christmas Day, which, was nice. We had both families over to our house for breakfast and to watch Kennedi open gifts from Santa. Then lunch with my family and dinner with his. It made for a very fun yet tiring day! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Business side- Kennedi's Closet is doing wonderful! From October 1 through December 20 we had a little over 200 orders, which is great! I'm now trying to think of new ideas for the spring/summer 2010 line! I'm thinking fairies and princess type things! Below I'll attach a few pics of some orders we've done recently!

Christmas Season is here!!!!

Christmas Season is here!!! I'm super excited for many reasons! First, it's Kennedi's First Christmas! I'm definitely already going overboard but that's ok! We're taking her to Disney's Merry Christmas the beginning of December and I'm desperately trying to figure out what she's going to wear! I know, I'm crazy! Then, two weeks after Christmas my girl's turning 1! It's a little bittersweet but I know she has to grow up. I'm already trying to visualize her first birthday outfit and the theme to her birthday party. She's busily trying to learn how to walk. So far we have taken 4 steps! She also has two little teeth and her new smile is squinting her nose up and cheesy smiling! I love it! She also just took her first bike ride (with her new Hello Kitty helmet) on the back of Nanny's bike. She just LOVES the outdoors!

On the business side of things... Kennedi's Closet is doing wonderful! When I started this business I honestly had no idea it would take off so fast. The Lord is def. blessing me! We're busy getting Christmas orders together and have a few more vendors as well! We now have Haute Tutu's from New Jersey in our shop as well as Miss Priss, Cute Kid Creations and Mud Pie. New Holiday Items will be coming soon!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving!

Update!

I haven't posted in so long because I've been really busy! The store has been doing great. I now have the website up and running. www.kennediscloset.com

The products seem to be a big hit and I'm still looking for more designers to showcase. I've also started a fan page on facebook so you'll have to check that out as well!

So.. what's going on in my life? We're currently on the way to Atlanta right now. My aunt and uncle are having a weekend bash to celebrate my cousins 30th birthday and welcoming my newest cousin from California Miss. Ivy who was born this past August. I just got the new HP netbook with the Veriozon wireless. It's awesome. I've been working on my website and fulfilling orders during the car ride. Great way to work! Kennedi is doing great! She's learning to sit on her own and is getting bigger every day!

Alrighty well I have to go finish doing some work! Have a good weekend!

Who knew that starting your own business could be sooo time consuming?!  I've started a facebook page for Kennedi's Closet (so don't forget to become a fan!), and now I am busy uploading my Summer 2009 line.  Be sure to check it out!  Besides working on that this weekend, we had the first person come and look at our house today!  We decided after having Kennedi we def. need something bigger!  We'll see how long it sits on the market!  Tomorrow a bunch of us are heading out to the beach.  Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day!

All about me!

Well, I'm finally taking the plunge and starting a blog!  This blog will be about my journey in starting my own business and being a first time mom.  First, let me start by telling you a little about myself.  My wonderful husband and I got married on July 7, 2007 after dating almost 5 years.  We bought our first house on November 8, 2007 and were thrilled!  He's a firefighter and I teach 3rd grade.  Then on January 7, 2009 we were blessed to welcome our sweet baby girl Kennedi into our lives.  Now everything has changed!  After taking 8 weeks of maternity leave I went back to teaching to finish out this school year.  We currently have 9 days left... but whose counting!?  I've also been blessed to be able to teach part time next year at the same school.  The county that I work for now has job sharing for teachers, where two teachers share one classroom and work every other day.  Very excited!!  So with all these new changes I've thought what better time to start my own business than now!

Since I can remember I've always wanted to own my own boutique.  Well, actually since Donna Martin on 90210 started her boutique "Now Try This" I've wanted to copy her.  Yes, I was a 90210 junkie!  From the moment I got pregnant my husband and I started praying for the Lord to provide a way for me to work from home.  The only problem was that I am a full time mom and a full time teacher so that left little time for me to open my own store.  Then the first door was open for me to go part time teaching.  With summer break starting in two weeks and after much prayer we decided that I should go ahead, even in the bad economy, and give it my best.

So, here I am starting a blog about my business.  I decided to start Kennedi's Closet after my baby girl Kennedi.  She's a little over 4 months now and extremely girlie!  As a mom I love and am obsessed with Smocked anything, monogrammed everything, and of course big hair bows!  From the day Kennedi was born she has had a bow on her head.  Her closet is full of smocked clothing and majority of her bibs, burp cloths, blankets, diaper covers, and bags are all monogrammed.  I'm a little obsessed I know.  Everywhere we go people are constantly complimenting me on Kennedi's outfits and accessories so I thought what better thing to sell in my store than children's boutique style outfits and accessories.  So, now you can follow my journey on creating my Online Children's Boutique.
